OWASSO, Okla. – The Roger State women's golf team pulled away on day two to win the 6
th Annual Hillcat Classic on Tuesday by 19 strokes at the Bailey Ranch Golf Club. Hillcat
Jessica Green also claimed individual medalist honors in the event.
Three Hillcats finished the tournament in the top six, led by Green, who won the tournament by five strokes. Green finished round two with a score of 75, shooting a 38 on the front nine and 37 on the back nine. The junior finished the day with 13 pars and a birdie on hole 14.
Sydney Murray wrapped up the tournament with a third-place finish after carding the best round of the day. In round two, the senior would finish the day with a score of 74, shooting 36 on the front nine and 38 on the back nine. She recorded 14 pars and a birdie on hole five.
Mariana Flores capped off the top-10 finishes in the tournament for the Hillcats with a round two score of 78. Flores shot 39 on the front nine and 39 on the back, finish in sixth place. The senior recorded 13 pars for the day.
Marelda Ayal climbed into a top half finish after carding a 78 in round two to wrap the scoring for the Hillcats on day two. Ayal finished 23
rd in the 56-golfer field.
The women's golf team will be back in action on March 29-30, competing in the 2021 Holiday Inn Express MWSU Women's Spring Invitational, held in St. Joseph Missouri.
