ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Due to weather impacting the St. Joseph area and other variables, the Hy-Vee Classic schedule for this weekend has been altered, resulting in several changes for the Hillcat softball program.
 
With the changes, the tournament has been moved to Saturday and Sunday, and the Hillcats will see three different opponents than originally scheduled.
 
The No. 9 ranked Hillcats were originally scheduled to play No. 3 Augustana and Bemidji State on Friday, March 19 and St. Cloud State and Sioux Falls on Saturday, March 20.
 
Rogers State will now face No. 14 Winona State and Upper Iowa at noon and 4 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday, the Hillcats face Bemidji State and Minnesota State-Mankato with games set for noon and 2 p.m.
 
All four games for the Hillcats will take place at Heritage Park in St. Joseph.
 
Three of the four games will come against new opponents for the softball program, with the only previous meeting coming against Upper Iowa, a 9-3 victory for the Hillcats in Hays, Kansas in February of 2018.
