HAYS, Kan. – Rogers State men's basketball (14-8, 8-8 MIAA) came up short in a 62-47 game against Fort Hays State (17-4, 12-4 MIAA) on Thursday.

Tylan Dean led the Hillcats with 13 points with three rebounds, an assist and a steal. Both
Gerren Jackson and
Jordan Coblin put up nine points. Jackson added two rebounds, a block and a steal while Coblin added two steals, a rebound and an assist.

The first half started close with five lead changes and three ties through the first 12 minutes. However, with RSU up 11-10, the Tigers proceeded to close out the half on a 21-10 run that began with FHSU shooting 5-for-7 from deep over a five minute period to carry a 31-21 lead into the break.

The Hillcats came out of the locker room on fire as they opened the second half on a 11-4 run to trim the deficit to 35-32. However, the Tigers answered with a 12-0 run to push out to their largest lead of the game at 47-32. RSU tried to battled back, but could not get closer that seven points at 47-40. FHSU eventually took the 62-47 win.

The Hillcats will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 12 as they travel to Kearney, Neb. to face off against Nebraska-Kearney in the regular season road finale. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
