Hillcats Drop Road Game To Nebraska-Kearney

KEARNEY, Neb. – Rogers State men's basketball (14-9, 8-9 MIAA) dropped a 68-58 game to Nebraska-Kearney (10-14, 6-12 MIAA) on Saturday.

Tylan Dean led the team with 11 points. Devin Pullum put up 10 points with two assists. In total, four Hillcats pulled down five rebounds apiece including Dean, Brewster Peacock, Ugo Obineke and Gerren Jackson.

The Hillcats controlled the majority of the opening 20 minutes as they started the game on an 8-3 run. They were able to build up their lead to 30-19 at its largest with 5:23 left in the half. However, the Lopers closed out the period on a 12-3 run to trim the deficit to 33-31 going into the break.

The second half was the exact opposite of the first half as UNK started the period on an 8-2 run to take their first lead of the game at 39-35 and never trailed again. The Lopers built out their advantage to its largest 68-53 with just under two minutes left, before claiming the 68-58 victory.

The Hillcats will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 16 as the return to the Claremore Expo Center and look to rebound against No. 12 Central Oklahoma. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
