RSU Climbs Into Top Five For First Time In School History

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Rogers State softball checked in at No. 5 in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 Poll, the organization announced on Tuesday. This is the first time in program history RSU has been ranked inside the top five.
 
Last week, the Hillcats (18-2) went 4-0 at the Drury Classic with wins over host Drury, William Jewell and Southwest Baptist. RSU outscored their opponents 26-3 in the four games, which included three shutouts.
 
RSU is the top team from the MIAA ahead of No. 10 Central Oklahoma. They also are highest ranked team from the Central Region ahead of No. 8 Augustana, No. 20 Minnesota State and Harding, who was receiving votes.
 
After 20 games on the road to start the season, the Hillcats finally return home to Diamond Sports Complex for their home opener and the start of league play on Thursday, March 9 against Northeastern State in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
