KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Rogers State women's golf was well represented in the MIAA Awards, the league announced on Wednesday.
 
Lydia Sitorus was named MIAA Freshman of the Year and earned First Team All-MIAA honors. The Bitung, Indonesia native was the driving force in the Hillcats success during the regular season with eight top 10 finishes in 10 tournaments, including five top three finishes and winning the 2021 Golden Bear Classic. Sitorus is currently ranked No. 86 in the nation, according to Golfstat.
 
In her fifth year at the helm, Whitney Hocutt was named the MIAA Coach of the Year, which makes back-to-back years she has earned this award. She has led the RSU to the top spot in the most recent Central Region Rankings. Hocutt guided the Hillcats to six tournament wins this year, including four-straight to close out the regular season.
 
In addition to the two individual awards, Jessica Green and Marelda Ayal were also named All-MIAA. Green, a product of Cape Town, South Africa, earned First Team honors and finished the regular season with five top 10 finishes in 10 tournaments, including four top three finishes. Ayal, a native of Jakarta, Indonesia, earned Second Team honors and finished the regular season with four top 10 finishes in seven tournaments, including winning the Hillcat Classic.
 
The Hillcats will look to capture their first MIAA Title as they compete in the MIAA Championship beginning on Thursday, April 21 in Wichita, Kan. at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course.
