CLAREMORE, Okla. – 2022 NCAA Division II National Champions, Rogers State softball were unanimously ranked No. 1 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Preseason Poll, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Receiving all 16 first place votes and 400 points, the Hillcats enter the 2023 season after claiming their first-ever National Championship going a perfect 5-0 in Denver last spring as part of a blistering 15-1 record in the postseason and shattered the school record for wins with a 58-10 overall record.

The MIAA preseason favorite, the Hillcats rank ahead of two other schools in the league including No. 8 Central Oklahoma and No. 22 Washburn. Central region foe Minnesota State also appeared in the poll receiving votes.

RSU will begin the defense of their national championship at home on Tuesday, Feb. 7 with a doubleheader against Cameron.
