CLAREMORE, Okla. – Defending National Champion Rogers State softball's Abbey Rogers ranked No. 30 in Extra Inning Softball's inaugural Extra Elite 100 Division II College Player Rankings.
 
The publication debuted its first-ever list of the top 100 players in NCAA Division II softball ranking the cream of the crop at their respective positions. The criteria for the rankings consisted of a combination of career achievements, most recent on-field history and overall impact on their team and the sport as a whole.
 
Rogers is the third-highest ranked player from the MIAA behind No. 8 Jaycee Ginter from Washburn and No. 22 Jacee Minter from Central Oklahoma. She is one of six MIAA players and one of 16 from the Central Region that were featured in the list.
 
Last season, the 2022 MIAA Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-MIAA selection was a critical piece in helping the Hillcats capture their first-ever National Championship. The Midwest City, Okla. native hit .388 at the plate with 21 extra base hits, with 14 home runs, and finished the season ranked tied for second in the MIAA with a team-high 57 RBI. Behind the plate, Rogers posted a sterling 1.000 fielding percentage with 284 put outs and eight assists while gunning down five runners caught trying to steal.
 
Rogers State will begin the defense of their National Championship at home as they open the 2023 campaign hosting Cameron in a doubleheader on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the Diamond Sports Complex. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
