ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Rogers State men's golf wrapped up competition on the first day of the Holiday Inn Express Classic on Monday.
 
After 36 holes at the par 71, 6,612 yard St. Joseph Country Club, the Hillcats sit in a tie for 12th after turning in a card of 592 (+24).
 
Thomas Barnes Grimes leads the Hillcats in a five-way tie for 14th after shooting 145 (+3) on the day. Daniel Robles Delval sits in a group of seven tied at 28th with a card of 147 (+5). Elliot-Han Monteremal is one stroke behind him in a group of eight tied at 35th with a 148 (+6). Ty Nicar is in a five-way tie for 78th with a 155 (+13). Julian Alanis rounds out the squad in a four-way tie for 84th with a 157 (+15).
 
Playing as an individual, Kaden Armstrong sits in a group of six tied at 72nd after shooting 154 (+12) on the day.
 
The Hillcats will close out the tournament with the final round tomorrow. The round is set for a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
