CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State baseball's
Prescott Horn and
Dean Grisham named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The CSC Academic All-District® team recognizes the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second- and third‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced June 7.
Horn was named First Team All-MIAA. The Apache Junction, Ariz. native was one of the best offensive players in the league during the regular season ranking fifth with a .394 average and leading the MIAA in on base percentage (.493) and doubles (22), a mark which broke the single season school record. The senior also led the Hillcats with 52 RBI, 30 walks and a 1.076 OPS average. The senior also earned MIAA Gold Glove honors in the outfield after he finished the regular season with a .956 fielding percentage only making three errors with 74 putouts and nine assists in 86 chances.
Grisham, a product of Broken Arrow, Okla., finished his sophomore campaign appearing in 13 games out of the bullpen with a 3-0 record and a 7.04 ERA in 15.1 innings pitched with 16 strikeouts.
College Sports Communicators (CSC) was founded in 1957 and is a 3,200-plus member national organization comprised of the sports public relations, media relations and communications/information professionals throughout all levels of collegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. The second oldest management association in all of intercollegiate athletics, CSC became an affiliated partner with NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics) in December of 2008.
