RSU Softball Stays At No. 3 In Third NCAA Central Region Rankings

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State softball stays at No. 3 in the third NCAA Division II Central Region Poll, the association announced on Wednesday.

The Hillcats, currently ranked No. 9 in the NFCA Coaches Poll, are the third highest MIAA team in the rankings behind No. 1 Central Oklahoma and No. 2 Missouri Southern and ahead of No. 7 Washburn, No. 9 Missouri Western and No. 10 Emporia State.

The NCAA will host two regionals within the Central Region, with the top two schools hosting four-team double-elimination tournaments on May 12-14. The winners of these tournaments will then face off in the Super Regionals the following weekend.

The Central Region consists of three conferences. The MIAA, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and Great American Conference will send their respective postseason tournament champions as automatic qualifiers to the two regionals. The field of eight will be rounded out by five more at-large bids.

The Hillcats begin their postseason journey at the MIAA Tournament as the No. 3-seed and face off against No. 6-seed Missouri Western in Topeka, Kan. at the Envista Softball Complex. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.
