CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State men's and women's cross country and track and field had nine student-athletes named to the College Sports Commuincations (CSC) Academic All-District© team, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The CSC Academic All-District® team recognizes the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second- and third‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced June 7.
On the women's side, Madison Bradshw,
Gloria Butts,
Riley Coleman,
Brianna DeAngelis and
Tori Wood all earned Academic All-District honors.
Bradshaw finished the year earning All-MIAA Honorable Mention accolades after setting new personal best times in the 4k, 5k and 6k during the cross country season, including breaking the 5k school record with a time of 17:32.3 in September. In the track and field season, she was part of the team that finished second in the distance medley relay at the MIAA Indoor Championships and broke the school record with a time of 11:59.50, while also breaking the 5,000m school record with a time of 17:41.09 earlier in the year. She set personal best times in the 400m and 1,500m during the outdoor season.
Butts set new personal best times in the 4k, 5k, and 6k during the cross country season. She set new personal best times in the Mile, 3,000m and 5,000m during the indoor track and field season and in the 1,500m and 10,000m in the outdoor season.
Coleman set new personal best times in the 4k and 6k during the cross country season. She set new personal best times in the 3,000m in the indoor track and field season and in the 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m and 10,000m in the outdoor season.
DeAngelis earned All-MIAA Honorable Mention honors during the cross country season after setting new personal best times in the 4k, 5k and 6k. In the indoor track and field season, she broke the school record in the 3,000m with a time of 10.09.47 and set a new personal best time in the mile. She broke the 10,000m school record in the outdoor season with a time of 3:39.28, while also setting personal best times in the 800m and 5,000m.
Wood set new personal best times in the 5k and 6k during the cross country season. She was part of the team that finished second in the distance medley relay at the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships and broke the 5,000m school record with a time of 17:28.91 in the outdoor season.
On the men's side,
Jon Biersdorfer,
Collin McHugh,
Carlos Vallejo and
Kory Wilson all earned Academic All-District Honors.
Biersdorfer set personal best times in the 6k, 8k and 10k during the cross country season. In the indoor track and field season, he set personal best times in the 600 yard and mile. In the outdoor season, he was part of the team that broke the 4x800 relay school record at the prestigious Drake Relays with a time of 7:39.13, while also setting personal best times in the 400m hurdles, 800m and 1,500m.
McHugh set new personal best times in the 6k and 8k during the cross country season. He then set personal best times in the 800m, mile and 3,000m in the indoor track and field season and in the 400m in the outdoor season.
Vallejo set new personal best times in the 6k and 8k during the cross country season. In the indoor season, he set new personal best times in the 800m and mile. He was part of the team that broke the 4x800 relay school record at the prestigious Drake Relays with a time of 7:39.13 in the outdoor season.
Kory Wilson set new personal best times in the 8k and 10k during the cross country season. In the outdoor track and field season, he set a new personal best time in the 5,000m.
College Sports Communicators (CSC) was founded in 1957 and is a 3,200-plus member national organization comprised of the sports public relations, media relations and communications/information professionals throughout all levels of collegiate athletics in the United States and Canada.
