NEW ORLEANS – Rogers State women's cross country climbed back up to No. 7 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Central Regional Rankings, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The Hillcats are the fourth-highest MIAA team in the rankings behind No. 2 Nebraska Kearney, No. 3 Pittsburg State and No. 6 Fort Hays State, and ahead of No. 8 Northwest Missouri and No. 9 Missouri Southern.
RSU has appeared in 20 of the last 21 regional rankings and has made 24 overall appearances since 2021. They have won three of their four meets this season, winning the RSU Distance After Dark, Southern Stampede and Golden Eagle Invite as well as finishing second at the Griffon Invite. They are also the only ranked team from Oklahoma.
The Hillcats are now taking time to train and prepare for the MIAA Championships on Oct. 26, which will be hosted by Missouri Western in St. Joseph, Mo.
