CYPRESS, Texas – Rogers State women's golf closed out competition at The Southern Invite on Tuesday.

After three rounds at the par 72, 6,035 yard Cypress Course at the Cypresswood Golf Club, the Hillcats finished in fifth place with a card of 907 (+43), and were the highest finishing MIAA team in the tournament.

Marelda Ayal led RSU in a five-way tie for 18th after shooting 225 (+9) over the three rounds.
Lydia Sitorus and
Lauren Anderson finished in a group of six tied at 30th with cards of 229 (+13).
Brianna Maddux finished one stroke behind in a three-way tie for 36th with a 230 (+14).
Kristin Gudmundsdottir rounded out the squad in a group of eight tied at 39th after shooting 231 (+15).

Playing as an individual,
Kamryn Zuniga finished in a tie for 68th with a card of 238 (+22).

The Hillcats will be back in action on Monday, Feb. 28 as they travel to Cabot, Ark. to compete in the 18th Annual Natural State Classic at Cypress Creek at Greystone.
