Box Score CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State baseball (17-14, 9-11 MIAA) couldn't contain Washburn (18-14, 12-8 MIAA) as they fell 15-7 in the final game of the series on Saturday.
The Hillcats jumped on the board first with an early 2-0 lead in the first inning.
AJ Folds led off the game with an infield single back to the pitcher and then advanced to second on a wild pitch.
Matthew Delgado brought him in with a single through the right side of the infield.

Geovanni Blackshaw.
The Ichabods responded in the bottom half of the frame with four runs to take a 4-2 lead. A triple to center scored the first run with a double to right plating the second run. A two-run homer to the right field corner brought in the other two runs.
Washburn added a run in the second on a sacrifice fly to left. They increased their lead to 6-2 in the third on another sacrifice fly, this one to right.
In the bottom of the fifth, RSU pushed across three runs to cut the lead to 6-5.
Joel Escalante launched a three-run blast to right field, scoring Folds and Mitchell.
The Ichabods pushed the lead back out to 9-5 in the fifth with three runs. Two singles through the left side of the infield brought in the runs.
The Hillcats got a run back in the sixth to trim the deficit to 9-6 on a Mitchell RBI groundout to short that allowed
Matthew Schure to score.
Washburn extended their lead in the sixth to 11-6 with back-to-back solo home runs. They scored five final runs in the eighth to go up 15-6. Three RBI singles plated the first three runs with the fourth scoring from third on a balk.
The Hillcats got one more run in the top of the ninth to set the final score at 15-7 as Folds came in on a wild pitch.
Chase Torkelson (4-0) earned the win.
Christopher Spry (1-3) took the loss.
The Hillcats will return home on Tuesday, April 2 as they step out of MIAA play to face off against Southeastern Oklahoma State in a non-conference, mid-week contest. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
