KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Seven members of the Rogers State softball team earned All-MIAA honors, the league announced on Tuesday.

For the second year in a row,
Sara Llamas-Howell was named the MIAA Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-MIAA. The senior from Pawnee, Okla., once again dominated league opponents in the circle, helping the Hillcats clinch a share of the regular season title for the first time in program history. Llamas-Howell owns the second-best ERA (1.44) and opposing batting average (.193) in the league. She led all MIAA pitchers with 52 batters struck out looking, tied for the second-most wins with 19, and ranked in the league's top 10 in innings pitched (146.1), total batters struck out (143), and fewest runs allowed (40). She enters the MIAA postseason tournament with a record of 19-6 on the season.

Callie Yellin was also named First Team All-MIAA. The Farmersville, Texas product finished the regular season as one of the Association's most prolific hitters, with a .310 average and 22 extra base hits. The senior ranks among the top 10 in the MIAA in multiple categories including home runs (13), RBI (43) and slugging percentage (.632). She also leads RSU with 34 runs scored.

Abbey Rogers and
Paxton Donaldson were named Second Team All-MIAA. Rogers is hitting .348 at the plate with seven home runs, 30 RBI and 21 runs scored. Donaldson leads the Hillcats with a .386 average with two home runs, 22 RBI, 30 runs scored and three stolen bases.

Jade Sanders and
Kaylee Lyon earned All-MIAA Honorable Mention honors. Sanders holds a 1.66 ERA in 126.1 innings over 27 appearances and 22 starts with 111 strikeouts. The sophomore leads the MIAA, holding opponents to a measly .174 average. With a 15-3 record, the Stonewall, Okla. native also ranks among the top 10 in the league in ERA, strikeouts, strikeouts looking and wins. Lyon is hitting .324 in her first season on the Hill with 33 RBI, 10 home runs, 29 runs scored and is a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen bases, the second most on the team.

Bridgett Morales earned Gold Glove honors for her defensive performance at first base. The junior finished the regular season with a sterling 1.000 fielding percentage with 313 putouts and seven assists in 320 chances while being a part of seven double plays.

With the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MIAA Tournament, the Hillcats will take on the winner of No. 8 seed Central Missouri and No. 9 seed Missouri Southern on Thursday, May 2 at 11 a.m. in Edmond, Okla. at Gerry Pinkston Stadium.
