WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Rogers State women's soccer (1-7, 0-2 MIAA) fell 2-0 on the road to No. 9 Central Missouri (5-2-1, 2-0 MIAA) on Sunday.
Â
"We walk away from this game knowing we were not our best today," said Head Coach Chris Jones. "We put in the work defensively but did not execute certain aspects of the game, and they punished us for it. We held the No. 9 team in the country to 2-0, and that's great, but we know we can play better against a good opponent and get a result. We now have to look to Friday and get back to work."

Despite giving up the two goals,
Marlou Frieling was solid in net for the Hillcats as she made eight saves.
Â
In the first half, UCM came out firing on both sides of the ball, taking all 12 shots while holding RSU shotless. They got on the board early in the 27th minute as they found the back of the net off a corner kick to take a 1-0 lead.
Â
In the final 45 minutes, the Hillcats began to show signs of life as the Jennies narrowly outshot them 8-6 with RSU taking four shots on goal to UCM's three. Unfortunately, Rogers State could not get the ball to fall their way. The Jennies sealed the 2-0 win in the 47th minute with a quick goal to start the half.
Â
The Hillcats will return home on Friday, Oct. 4 as they welcome Pittsburg State into the friendly confines of Soldier Field for the first-ever meeting between the two sides. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
