BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Despite a rain delay and windy playing conditions, the Rogers State women's golf 'A' team finished runner-up and the 'B' team collected a 13
th-place finish on Tuesday at The Club at Forest Ridge.
Arkansas Tech won the two-day tournament with a score of 892 (+6). The Golden Suns' Ellen Spigner captured the individual title after shooting 71 (-1). RSU's 'A' team secured second place with a score of 920 (+28), while Central Missouri finished third with a score of 896 (+32). Additionally, RSU's 'B' team concluded play with a score of 967 (+103).
Senior
Brianna Maddux finished tied for fifth with a score of 220 (+4). In the third round, the Owasso, Oklahoma, native shot a 79 (+7), which included birdies on holes six and seven.
Sophomore
Milena Andres (+7) was the second-highest finisher for the Hillcats, tying for 11th with Arkansas-Fort Smith's Lauren Evans. Freshman
Lara Foigel (+11) moved up six spots in the final round to finish tied for 14th, while freshman
Lou Fourdan (+13) tied for 20
th and junior
Lauren Anderson (+19) finished tied for 39th.
On RSU's second team, freshman
Clara Ledun (+14) led the way, tying for 25th. Junior
Rylan Ashley (+19) also tied for 39th, while
Brooklyn Worley (+26) tied for 52
nd and sophomore
Elle Standlee Daniels (+44) finished tied for 80th.
RSU women's golf will return for the Spring season on Feb. 16-17 at the Southern Invite at the Cypress Golf Course in Cypress, Texas.
