CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State baseball will begin the 2025 campaign on the road on Tuesday, Feb. 4 with a trip to Ada, Okla. for a non-conference matchup against East Central.

After being picked eighth in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, the Hillcats will open the season with a true road game for the first time in four seasons against the Tigers. RSU currently leads the all-time series 6-1 and are 4-0 in Ada. The last time the two teams faced off, the Hillcats rolled to a 12-1 win in seven innings on the road on March 7, 2023.

Last season, RSU made its fourth-straight appearance in the MIAA Tournament before falling to Pittsburg State in the first round, best of three series in Pittsburg, Kan. They finished the year with a 24-25 record.

In 2025, the Hillcats return 14 players from last year's squad including All-MIAA selections
Landon Riley and
Colton Anderson as well as
Jake Mitchell, who broke the single-season walks record last year by earning 49 free passes. Head Coach
Chris Klimas also brought in 15 newcomers, including four NCAA Division I transfers in
Jackson Romero (Northern Colorado),
Blake Nichols (Oral Roberts),
Weston Peninger (Lamar) and
Ky Decker (Utah Tech).
