KEARNEY, Neb. - Rogers State women's golf closed out the MIAA Championships with the final round on Tuesday.
"Overall, the golf course had our number this week," said head coach Whitney Hocutt. "We made too many mistakes to overcome each round. Even with these errors, we had many stretches of great golf from each player this week too. Our three seniors, Jess, Kristin, & Lydia, represented us extremely well. Kristin led the team after the first and second rounds and put good rounds together. Jess came in as a sub for the second and third rounds and had some really good holes. I am so proud of Lydia for finishing runner-up. Thank you to Amber Feldman, the MIAA, and Meadowlark Hills for a great championship event. We will focus our time and energy on preparing for the NCAA Central Regional at Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond."
After three rounds at the par 71, 5,908 yard Meadowlark Hills Golf Club, the Hillcats finished in a tie for fifth after turning in a card of 949 (+97).
