KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Rogers State women's track and field's Cadence Cordova was named the MIAA Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

The Owasso, Okla. product was flying around the track as she crossed the finish line with a time of 4:36.64 at the John Jacobs Invitational for the third-best time in the MIAA this season. As the fastest Division II competitor in the race, Cordova also broke the school record by 2.96 seconds, besting Katie Byrd's record set two years ago in 2023. The redshirt junior's previous best in the event was 4:40.96 at the MIAA Outdoor Championship last season.
