Monteremal Wraps Up First Round At NCAA Midwest/Central Region Championship

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Rogers State men's golf's Elliot-han Monteremal wrapped up the first round of competition at the NCAA Midwest/Central Region Championship on Thursday.

After 18 holes at the par 71, 6,596 yard St. Joseph Country Club, Monteremal sits in a large group of 11 tied at 82nd after shooting a 78 (+7) for the day.

The senior got off to a slow start as he shot two bogeys in his first four holes. He then had setbacks going +3 on both No. 6 and No. 7 before gaining back a stroke with a birdie on the par-5 No.8.

Monteremal finished the back nine strong as he parred seven of the nine holes, with an offsetting bogey on No. 12 and birdie on No. 17 to go even par down the stretch.

He will look to climb up the leaderboard in the second round tomorrow, and is set to tee off on No. 1 at 1:54 p.m.
