PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Hillcat men's golf team concluded play at the Tommy Riggs Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, finishing 11th at the par-72 Crestwood Country Club with a three-round total of 936 (+72).
In the final round in Pittsburg, Kansas, RSU posted its best score of the tournament, 307 (+19). Central Oklahoma won the team competition with a score of 890 (+25), followed by Washburn (+33) in second and Central Missouri (+44) in third.
Kobsak Phisitbuntoon led the Hillcats in a tie for 22nd place, finishing with a three-round total of 230 (+14) to move up nine spots in the individual standings. The freshman shot 75 (+3) in the final round, securing birdies on holes seven, eight and 12.
Sophomore
Miguel Mora climbed three spots to finish tied for 53rd with a total score of 237 (+21). Senior
Tyler Collier concluded the tournament with a score of 238 (+22), while sophomore
Callum Brown (+23) jumped 19 positions to finish 63rd, aided by a team-leading 74 (+2) in the final round. Senior
Aiden Deng (+27) rounded out the team, finishing in a tie for 75th.
The Hillcats will return to action on April 13-15 at Jefferson City CC in Jefferson City, Missouri, for the MIAA Championships.
