CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) released the results of the most recent Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll, and Rogers State ranked 21st in the country, earning 79 points.
The Hillcats made the top 25 following an impressive showing at the DBU Classic, where they finished tied for third in the team competition with a total score of 583 (+7). Senior
Brianna Maddux finished the tournament tied for fifth with a two-round score of 142 (-2), which included a career-best round of 68 (-4) on the par-72 course.
The national runner-up from last year, Central Missouri, is the only other team from the MIAA ranked, coming in at 13th with 185 points.
The University of Findlay ascends to the No. 1 spot in Division II after receiving three first-place votes, while Wingate University is ranked second with nine votes. Dallas Baptist University received one vote, finishing third, followed by Flagler College at No. 4. Anderson University rounds out the top five after receiving two first-place votes.
Rogers State women's golf will return to action on Oct. 13-14 at the Midwest Classic in Warrensburg, Missouri, at Mules National GC.
