CLAREMORE, Okla. – Homecoming week has arrived.
The week kicks off with several fun events for student athletes. On Monday, Sept. 29, karaoke will take place at J-Farleys, starting at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, Oct. 1, students can participate in a dodgeball tournament at Bushyhead at 7 p.m. Additionally, the homecoming dance is scheduled for October 3 at 8 p.m.
Homecoming activities will continue on Oct. 4 with various alumni games featuring our sports teams. The softball alumni game begins at 9:30 a.m. at RCB Bank Sports Complex, followed by the baseball alumni day at 3 p.m. at the same location. The soccer alumni game will take place at Soldier Field at 5:30 p.m.
In addition, the No. 11 men's soccer team will celebrate homecoming this Saturday against the Newman Jets. Tailgating begins at 10:30 a.m. with a performance from the RSU dance team, followed by the inaugural "Hillcat Walk" at 11:15 a.m. The homecoming king and queen will be announced during halftime.
Men's golf, women's soccer (away and home) and cross country will also be in action throughout the week. All Rogers State students, faculty, and staff can enjoy free admission to all home games.
BACK TO WORK IN THE SUNFLOWER STATE
The Hillcat men's golf team will tee off at the Newman Fall Invitational at Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas, on Monday and Tuesday. Day one begins at 8:30 a.m., with tee times for day two determined by the results of the first day. Representing the Hillcats are Dylan Ros, Kobsak Phisitbuntoon, Aiden Deng, Callum Brown, Tyler Collier, Bo Gentry (IND) and Ben Field II (IND).

A BIG WEEK FOR 14th-RANKED CATS'
The No. 11 men's soccer team (6-0-2, 2-0) is set for a significant week after starting conference play with a record of 2-0. On Thursday night at 7 p.m., they will host No. 17 Fort Hays State (5-0-2, 1-0). This match carries important implications for the GAC/MIAA standings, as both teams were predicted to win the conference title in the preseason coaches' poll and are undefeated. Additionally, international student-athletes from RSU will be recognized during halftime.
The Hillcats will return home on Saturday for the homecoming game against Newman (4-1-2, 1-0). Kick off against the Jets is scheduled for 1 p.m. See above for more details on homecoming festivities.

OFF TO THE JUNGLE BEFORE DEFENDING SOLDIER FIELD
The RSU women's soccer team (0-3-4, 0-1-1-) will look to bounce back this week against Pitt State and Missouri Southern. They head to Pittsburg, Kansas, for the first time to take on the Gorillas (6-1-1, 1-0-1), who started their program last season. Kick off from the Gorilla Soccer Pitch is slated for 2:00 p.m.
Women's soccer will conclude the week at home on Sunday against the MSSU Lions (2-2-3, 0-0-2). Action at Soldier Field will take place at 1:00 p.m.

RUNNING, RAZERBACKS, CHILI PEPPERS
A fun-filled October for Hillcat cross country will kick off with the 37th Annual Chili Pepper Festival at the University of Arkansas on Saturday, Oct. 4, in Fayetteville. The No. 18 women's cross country Hillcats will compete in either the Harter's Habanero race at 11 a.m. or the Prairie Fire Pepper race at 12:10 p.m. Meanwhile, the men's team will participate in the McDonnell Memorial race at 10:25 a.m. or the Prairie Fire Pepper at 11:25 a.m.
