INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA has released its inaugural alphabetical NCAA Division II Women's Golf Central Region Rankings, and the Rogers State women's golf team made the list.
The Hillcats captured their sixth consecutive title at the Hillcat Classic, held Monday and Tuesday at Bailey Golf Club in Owasso, with a two-round total of 612 (+36). Freshman
Lou Fourdan (+7) finished second, junior
Lauren Anderson (+9) took third, freshman
Clara Ledun (+10) finished fourth, sophomore
Milena Andres (+12) placed fifth and senior
Brianna Maddux (+20) tied for ninth, contributing to a strong showing with five golfers in the top 10.
RSU has tallied a victory at the NSU Women's Classic, along with top-five finishes at the DBU Classic (t-3
rd), Midwest Classic (3
rd), Regional Preview (5
th), Tulsa Cup (2
nd) and Southern Invite (4
th).
Joining the Hillcats in the MIAA rankings are Arkansas-Fort Smith, Central Missouri, Central Oklahoma, Missouri Southern, Missouri Western, Nebraska-Kearney, Northwest Missouri, and Washburn. The MIAA Championships are scheduled for April 20-22 at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Following the MIAA Championships, the NCAA Central Regional will take place May 4-6 at the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri. Four regional tournaments, each comprising 54 holes, will determine the participants for the NCAA Women's Golf Championships. Eighteen teams from the East, Central, South and West regions will compete, along with six individuals not affiliated with those teams.
The NCAA Championships are set for May 12-16 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
