WINGATE, N.C. – Rogers State baseball (25-3, 13-1 MIAA) achieved its highest ranking in the NCBWA poll, coming in at No. 20 with 111 points, marking a one-spot increase from the previous week.
The Hillcats also secured the fourth position in the NCBWA Central Region Rankings with 73 points. Pittsburg State (109 points), Central Missouri (98 points) and Augustana (86 points) rounded out the top four in the poll.
Rogers State is enjoying its best start during the NCAA Division II era and is currently on a 17-game winning streak, following its fourth consecutive run-rule victory—and seventh in the last nine games—against Arkansas-Fort Smith on Wednesday. The team is just two wins shy of tying the program's best win streak of 19, set in 2011.
Pittsburg State remains the top-ranked team nationally with 493 points and 16 first-place votes, followed closely by defending national champions Tampa with 480 points and three first-place votes. Central Missouri is ranked sixth among MIAA teams with 385 points.
In addition, the Hillcats maintained a program-high ranking of No. 15 in the ABCA poll this week, accumulating 160 points.
Rogers State will continue its homestand with the first game of a three-game series against the Emporia State Hornets on March 27, with the first pitch scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
