GREENSBORO, N.C. – Hillcat baseball moved to a program-best seventh in the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Week 9 poll with 245 points on Tuesday morning.
RSU (33-6, 21-4 MIAA) earned a 2-1 series victory against then-No. 29/23 Northwest Missouri State last weekend at the RCB Bank Sports Complex. After losing the first game 4-1, the Hillcats bounced back with a 6-5 win in game two and a 14-6 triumph in game three. In addition, RSU produced a commanding 17-3 run-rule win over Arkansas-Fort Smith, securing the season series against the Lions.
Catawba continues to lead this week's poll with 297 points, followed by Colorado Mesa with 284 points. From the MIAA, Rogers State leads the way, while Pittsburg State is ranked eighth, Central Missouri is 16th and Northwest Missouri State is tied for 30th.
