All 13 MIAA women's golf teams are in Warrensburg, Mo., this week for the Association's annual postseason golf championship, hosted April 20-22 at the University of Central Missouri's Mules National Golf Club. Among the 68 NCAA Division II women's golfers competing in the championship, Rogers State's Brianna Maddux was selected as the championship's "A Game" Scholar-Athlete for his performances on and off the course.

Established by the MIAA in 2022, "A Game" Scholar-Athlete Award presented by Athletic Solutions acknowledges the overall excellence of a student-athlete by recognizing one individual who has contributed to their team's success while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers. The student-athlete honored with the "A Game" Scholar-Athlete Award must be an active member of a qualifying team and must have a minimum of two terms completed at the institution.

Maddux is a senior from Owasso, Okla., on the Hillcats' women's golf team. She owns a perfect 4.0 grade point average with 106 credits completed as a justice administration major with a focus on law/justice. She plans to graduate this May with her bachelor's degree.

Maddux enters the Association's 2026 postseason tournament ranked eighth in the MIAA with a scoring average of 75.9. She also ranks 13th in the Central Region and 158th among all NCAA Division II women's golfers. Through nine events and 23 rounds played this season, Maddux has placed in the top five at three different events, including a runner-up finish at Northeastern State's Women's Classic in the fall.

Maddux is the first female student-athlete from Rogers State to earn the "A Game" Scholar-Athlete honor and only the second Hillcat overall to claim the title. To view past "A Game" Scholar-Athlete award winners and find more information about the award, visit theMIAA.com/scholar-athletes.
