Baseball Ranked Ninth in Week 12 NCBWA National Poll

RSU checked in at No. 2 in the central region rankings

WINGATE, N.C. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its Week 12 poll on Wednesday, and RSU Baseball was ranked ninth with 323 points.

In the latest NCBWA Central Region rankings, the Hillcats dropped to second place with 88 points, trailing No. 5 Pittsburg State. The top five teams in the region also include Minnesota State, Central Missouri and Augustana.

On the national level, Colorado Mesa leads with 500 points and all 20 first-place votes, followed by defending national champion Tampa with 471 points and North Greenville with 462 points. Other MIAA teams in the rankings include Pittsburg State at fifth and Central Missouri at 21st.

Last week, Rogers State (37-10, 25-8 MIAA) finished with a 1-3 record. They started the week with an 8-3 victory over Arkansas-Fort Smith in their regular-season home finale but experienced challenges against then-ranked No. 7 Pittsburg State, which secured one-run wins in games one and three of their series.

Additionally, Rogers State is ranked 10th in this week's American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Week 11 poll with 210 points.
