McCall Earns Prestigious Men’s Outdoor Track & Field “A Game” Award

He becomes the first track and field student-athlete to claim this honor

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Hillcat Track and Field junior Cade McCall was named the Athletic Solutions "A Game" Scholar-Athlete of the 2026 MIAA Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship. He is the first track and field student to claim this honor.

McCall joins Blake Phillippi, who was named the 2023 MIAA Men's Cross Country "A Game" Scholar Athlete, as the second male Hillcat to claim this award. Brianna Maddux of the women's golf team became the first female to receive the award last month at the 2026 MIAA Women's Golf Tournament.

All 10 MIAA men's track and field programs are in Pittsburg, Kan., this weekend for the Association's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted May 1-3 at Pittsburg State University's Russ Jewett Outdoor Track & Field Complex. Among the hundreds of NCAA Division II men's track and field student-athletes competing in the championship, Rogers State's McCall was selected as the championship's "A Game" Scholar-Athlete for her performances on and off the track.

Established by the MIAA in 2022, "A Game" Scholar-Athlete Award presented by Athletic Solutions acknowledges the overall excellence of a student-athlete by recognizing one individual who has contributed to their team's success while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers. The student-athlete honored with the "A Game" Scholar-Athlete Award must be an active member of a qualifying team and must have a minimum of two terms completed at the institution.

McCall is a junior from Glenpool, Okla., on the Hillcats track and field team. He owns a perfect 4.0 grade point average while majoring in applied tech-cybersecurity and information assurance with 107 credits completed.

On the track, McCall is a distance runner for the Hillcats and leads the squad in the 10,000 meters with a season-best time of 31:05.34. He placed seventh in the 10,000-meter race at the 2026 outdoor championship, finishing in 30:38.12.

McCall is only the second student-athlete from Rogers State to receive the "A Game" Scholar-Athlete honor and the first Hillcat to earn the award at the Association's outdoor championship.
