CLAREMORE, Okla. – Hillcat Women's Golf will kick off its fall season on Sept. 14-15 at the NSU Women's Classic at Page Belcher Golf Course. The opening round will begin at 8 a.m. on the par-71, 6,104-yard Stone Creek course.
 
On Monday, the lineup will feature Renoctoviana Said at 8 a.m., followed by Clara Ledun at 8:09 a.m., Milena Andres at 8:18 a.m., Lauren Anderson at 8:27 a.m., Lou Fourdan at 8:36 a.m., and Ella Standlee-Daniels at 11 a.m. Individual competitor Lara Foigel will tee off at 11:09 a.m.

PRESEASON REPORT
The women's golf team returned to on-campus training in late August. The talented 11-player roster includes eight returners and three newcomers, who have quickly begun working through multiple qualifying rounds in the Oklahoma heat.
 
"So far, we've had a lot of good practice," second-year head coach Lexi Johnson said. "We've had several qualifying rounds and focused on short games to build our ability to score well in tournaments. We have been fighting the heat here, but they've been tough, and we've still been getting good work in.
 
Johnson added, "We have three newcomers this year—two freshmen and a transfer—and they fit in really well. They have responded to everything and are adjusting to the different courses we play, learning how we do things around here. So far, they've been doing great."
 
FRESH OFF A TRIP TO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP APPEARANCE
Hillcat Women's Golf concluded a successful season with a 15th-place finish at the 2026 NCAA Division II National Championship, held at the par-72 PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
 
"Yeah, I was really excited," Johnson said about making the National Championship. "Obviously, that's the ultimate goal every year. We want to end our season at the national championship every single year. So, to be able to do that in my first year, it's really exciting that we met that goal, and now we just want to keep getting better from there every year."
 
Last season marked the fourth time in program history that Rogers State qualified for the national tournament. The Hillcats first appeared in 2021, finishing 12th, followed by 14th place in 2022 and 15th in 2024.
 
The Hillcats achieved 10 top-five finishes this season, including team titles at the NSU Women's Classic and the 11th Annual Hillcat Classic. In her first season as head coach, Johnson also led the team to third-place finishes at both the MIAA Championship and the NCAA Central Region Championship.

MEET HEAD COACH LEXI JOHNSON
Johnson enters her second season as head coach of the women's golf team in 2026-27.
 
In the 2025-26 season, Johnson was honored as MIAA Co-Coach of the Year. She joins legendary head coach Whitney Hocutt as the second coach in program history to earn this honor.
 
"Yeah, it felt really special, and other coaches vote on it, so I feel thankful and grateful they thought our team was good and that I did a good job in my first year," Johnson said about being named co-coach of the year. "But really, it's the players. I mean, they did great. They were amazing to work with, and they're ultimately the ones who go out there and play. So, they all did their job, and it helps make my job a lot easier."
 
Last season, Hillcats earned a berth in the NCAA Women's Golf National Championship after finishing third at the NCAA Central Region Championship. They also finished third at the MIAA Championship and, in late March, ranked as the top team in the Central Region for the first time since 2022. Lou Fourdan, named MIAA Freshman of the Year, along with two-time All-MIAA selection Brianna Maddux, made the WGCA All-Central Region team. Maddux additionally received the department's first-year NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete Award. Rogers State also set a program record with six student-athletes named WGCA All-American Scholars and earned the WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA award with a team GPA of 3.77.
 
Johnson quickly found success, leading the Hillcats to their first team title at the NSU Women's Classic in the fall. After a tie for third in a competitive field at the DBU Classic, Rogers State broke into the WGCA Top 25, landing at No. 21. Overall, the Hillcats recorded 10 top-five finishes and qualified for the NCAA National Championships for the fourth time in six years.

Johnson arrived on the Hill after four seasons as the Head Golf Coach at Owasso High School. With the Rams, she has built a program that has had sustained success throughout her tenure. Her team has consistently finished in the top six in the state, including finishing as high as fourth. Over the last four years, OHS has compiled over 15 top-3 finishes with two tournament wins. Johnson has coached one player to All-State honors in 2022 and has had four players sign to continue their careers at the collegiate level. Her teams are also just as successful in the classroom, as they were named 2022 Academic State Champions. She will be inducted into the OHS Hall of Fame this October. 

Johnson is no stranger to the MIAA, as she began her coaching career as a graduate assistant coach at Northeastern State for two years after a successful career as a student-athlete in Tahlequah. As team captain, she was a multi-time All-MIAA selection and led NSU to four-straight MIAA titles, 13 team wins and an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championships. She finished fifth at the 2018 MIAA Championships and later that season finished ninth at the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships.
 
She holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from NSU as well as a Master's Degree in Math Education.

Johnson resides in her hometown of Owasso with her husband, Marc, and their daughter, Rylie.
 
SCHEDULE PREVIEW
The fall season begins Sept. 14-15 with the NSU Women's Classic at Page Belcher Golf Course in Tulsa. Last year, Johnson secured her first career victory as the Hillcats claimed the team title with a two-round score of 589 (+21).
 
"It's really nice to have the opening tournament in Oklahoma because it allows players who aren't in the lineup to come out and support the team," Johnson said about starting the season in Tulsa. "We can have other people come out and support, and I feel like that's a good environment for the first tournament of the year. It helps with those nerves, and not having to travel super far to get a tournament under our belt is really helpful for the team."
 
On Sept. 21-22, Rogers State University will preview the conference course at the MIAA Conference Preview at Terradyne Country Club in Andover, Kansas. The following week, the team will travel to Kearney, Nebraska, for the Central Region Preview at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course.
 
On Oct. 19-20, the Hillcats will head to Dade City, Florida, for the St. Leo Invite at Lake Jovita Golf Club.
 
The fall season concludes with the Tulsa Cup on Oct. 26-27 at The Club at Forest Ridge. In 2025, the Hillcats finished second, posting a score of 892 (+28) over three rounds, highlighted by Brianna Maddux's runner-up finish and Milena Andres's 11th-place finish.
 
"Last year was my first year being a part of the Tulsa Cup. We do a lot to make the players feel special," said Johnson. "We give tee gifts, thanks to our sponsor, BancFirst. Players receive T-shirts, and we try to provide nice trophies for the winners. We also offer meals for them. Our goal is to create a tournament where players feel important and to make a special event for them. We have some great venues, and we're excited to be at Forest Ridge again."
 
The spring season opens in Cypress, Texas, with the Southern Invite on Feb. 15-16. Last spring, the Hillcats finished fourth with a team score of 908 (+44) in a competitive field.
 
From March 7-9, RSU will compete at Bailey Ranch Golf Course in Owasso for the 12th Annual Hillcat Classic, aiming for their seventh consecutive win at one of their home courses. MIAA Freshman of the Year Lou Fourdan led the team with a second-place finish, carding a two-round score of 151 (+7).
 
On the Hillcat Classic, Johnson said, "We love going out to Bailey and playing there. The staff is great, and it's nice to host a tournament at Bailey. We all get to see each other, and it's exciting for the players to be paired with a teammate since they usually don't get to play with their own team in golf. Having the men's team there as well is also great."
 
The following week, the Hillcats will travel to Destin, Florida, for the Emerald Coast Classic before finishing the regular season by co-hosting the Spring Preview at Big Creek Country Club in Mountain Home, Arkansas, from April 4-6 with Arkansas Tech and Central Missouri.
 
Postseason play begins April 12-14 at Terradyne Country Club for the MIAA Championships. Last season, Andres led the Hillcats with a third-place finish, while Lauren Anderson tied for ninth, helping the team to finish third overall.
 
The NCAA Central Region Championships are set for May 3-5 at Meadowlark Hills Golf Club, followed by the NCAA National Championships from May 11-15 at Mission Resort and Club in Orlando, Florida. RSU qualified for the NCAA National Championship last spring after a third-place finish at regionals.

CONFERENCE OUTLOOK
For the first time in program history, Rogers State has been named the favorite to win the MIAA, earning 110 points and three first-place votes in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll. This recognition follows a successful season in which the Hillcats had four All-MIAA players, finished third at the MIAA Championship, and competed in the NCAA National Championship for the fourth time after securing a third-place finish at the NCAA Central Region Championship.
 
"It's exciting, but it's also something we don't think about too much," Johnson said about being picked to win the league. "We don't focus on that. We're just here to keep working hard and get the job done and hopefully keep proving that we deserve to be at the top. The conference is getting stronger with a lot of competition for sure. We're definitely going to have to work hard and play well. I think it's something we have in us, but we have some good competition in our conference. So, we're just going to keep working hard and see what happens."
 
Washburn was selected second in the MIAA preseason poll, garnering 106 points and earning the most first-place votes from head coaches, with four selections. Defending MIAA champion Nebraska Kearney follows in third with 101 points and three first-place votes, while Central Missouri secured fourth with 98 points, including two first-place selections. Arkansas-Fort Smith rounded out the top five with 80 points.
 
Additionally, last season the Hillcats achieved a ranking as high as No. 21 in the WGCA National Poll and claimed the top spot in the Central Region Rankings for the first time since 2022.
 
MEET THE TEAM: RETURNERS
The Hillcats will welcome back eight returners, including three seniors, two juniors, and three sophomores.
  
Senior Lauren Anderson returns for her final year on the Hill. The Tontitown, Arkansas, native is a three-time All-MIAA selection, earning honorable mention in 2025-26. Last season, she competed in 12 tournaments and recorded four top-10 finishes, including ninth place at the MIAA Championship. Anderson also finished 15th at the NCAA Central Regional. She concluded the year ranked 30th in the region and 237th nationally, with a scoring average of 76.76 after 32 rounds. Anderson was also recognized on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.
 
"Lauren is reliable and a solid player for us," Johnson said of Anderson. "She always shows up and steps up for the team when it matters. That's the crucial part—being able to perform when it counts. She has proven she can do that, and I'm excited to see how she steps up even more in her senior year."
 
Senior Rylan Ashley returns for her final season at RSU. Last season, the Midwest City native competed in eight tournaments and posted three top-25 finishes, including an 11th-place finish at the Hillcat Classic. She concluded the season with a scoring average of 79.16 over 18 rounds and earned recognition as a WGCA All-American Scholar, received the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award, and was named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.
 
Brooklyn Worley will compete in her final year at College Hill during the 2026-27 season. The Conway, Arkansas, native participated in three tournaments last season, with her best finish coming in 23rd place at the Hillcat Classic. In addition to her athletic contributions, Worley excelled in academics, earning a perfect 4.0 GPA and receiving the prestigious MIAA Academic Excellence Award and the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award.
 
Two-time All-MIAA honoree Milena Andres is back for her junior season. The native of Tigre, Argentina, had a standout sophomore year, with three top-five finishes, including a team-leading third-place finish at the MIAA Championships. She also finished fourth at the NSU Women's Classic, fifth at the Hillcat Classic, 24th at the Central Regional, and 34th at the NCAA National Championships (stroke play rounds). Andres ended the year ranked 24th in the region, averaging a score of 76.48 over 32 rounds. Academically, she was recognized as a WGCA Academic All-American Scholar, earned CSC Academic All-District honors, received the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award, and was named a MIAA Academic Scholar Athlete.
 
Johnson praised Milena's performance, noting she had a solid year. "She's consistent and reliable, always showing up for the team," she said. "I can almost guarantee she'll be among the scoring leaders in every tournament. She really wants to improve and puts in the work to do so. She's going to continue to be a big part of our success, and I'm excited to see what she accomplishes."

Elle Standlee Daniels begins her third season with Rogers State. The native of Prague participated in three tournaments during the 2025-28 season, earning her best finish, 16th place, at the Hillcat Classic in Owasso. Standlee Daniels is expected to compete in the NSU Women's Classic on Monday and Tuesday.
 
Lou Fourdan, the reigning MIAA Freshman of the Year and a WGCA All-Central Region honoree, returns for her sophomore season. The native of Carnac, France, participated in all 12 tournaments last year, achieving two top-three finishes and six total top-10 finishes. She earned MIAA Co-Golfer of the Week honors after a third-place finish at the MWSU Holiday Classic. Fourdan wrapped up the season ranked eighth in the region with a scoring average of 75.54 over 32 rounds. Additionally, she was recognized as a WGCA All-American Scholar.
 
"Yeah, she [Fourdan] came in right away and has obviously been a great addition," Johnson said. "You can't ask for much more from someone in their first year. She's a solid player who is super consistent. Even when she doesn't have her best stuff, she fights and knows how to score on the golf course, which is the most important aspect of a player.
 
She has a great short game, is really adaptable, and is confident too. I couldn't ask for more from her in her first year. She had a great season and has qualified well this year, which is no surprise. I'm excited to see what she does and thrilled to have her for more years to come."
 
Clara Ledun returns to Claremore for her sophomore campaign. The La Salvetat Saint-Gilles, France, native played in eight tournaments last season, earning two top-10 finishes, including a fourth-place finish at the Hillcat Classic. Ledun made history as the first women's golfer to achieve a hole-in-one in tournament play at the Southern Invite. She concluded the year with a scoring average of 77.08 over 22 rounds and was part of the NCAA Regional and National Championship team. Additionally, Ledun was named a WGCA All-American Scholar and earned a spot on the MIAA Newcomer Academic Honor Roll.
 
"Clara is another one who really stepped up for us last year, especially in the spring and postseason, and posted some great rounds. I hope she can keep that momentum going. She's an incredibly talented player, so I'm excited to see what she does this year," Johnson said of Ledun.
 
Lara Foigel returns for her sophomore season after a strong showing last year. The native of Neuquén, Argentina, competed in seven tournaments and served as a substitute in the NCAA Central Regional and the NCAA National Championships. She recorded a 14th-place finish at the Tulsa Cup and placed 16th at the Hillcat Classic. Foigel also excelled academically, earning recognition as a WGCA All-American Scholar and a spot on the MIAA Newcomer Academic Honor Roll.
 
"Rylan, who's coming back for his senior year, and Lara, a sophomore, both played in the lineup for us in a couple of tournaments last year and had some great scores," Johnson said. "Elle and Brooklyn have also played really well in qualifying. I'm excited to see the competition for our top five spots because it's going to be a fight among those who were in the lineup last year, as well as some newcomers who weren't in the lineup but are performing really well. With our returners and newcomers mixed together, it will be exciting to see how our lineup shapes up and who steps up. We will see what happens this year."

MEET THE TEAM: NEWCOMERS
Rogers State will have one transfer and two freshmen on the roster in 2026-27.
 
Peyton Black joins the Hill from Seminole State College, where she finished second at the Crestview Fall Invitational with the Trojans last year. The Midwest City, Oklahoma, native was a state champion at Carl Albert High School. She plans to pursue a degree in medical/molecular biology at Rogers State.
 
"Peyton had a connection here because she's from Oklahoma and knows Rylan from high school," Johnson said about Black. "She came on a visit and fit really well with the team. However, it's also important that transfers contribute in other ways, such as having good grades, being a good person, and enhancing team dynamics. She checked all the boxes for what we were looking for. I'm excited to see her improvement and what she can bring to the team."
 
Freshman Abby Chang, a three-time letter winner in golf from Broken Arrow High School, is set for her first season on the Hill. student. At BHS, she was a member of the National Honor Society, a three-time Academic All-Conference recipient, and an All-State Orchestra performer. Chang intends to major in biochemistry at RSU.
 
Renoctoviana Said, a business marketing major from Jakarta, Indonesia, joins the program from SMA Labschool Jakarta. She is set to make her debut for the Red and Navy at the NSU Women's Classic.
 
"Both freshmen have had some solid qualifying rounds," Johnson said. "It's all new to them, obviously, and qualifying can be a little intimidating, especially since we have 11 on the team and only five are in the lineup. It's a lot to adjust to, but they've been doing well. Both have shown a lot of promise, and I've seen some really good qualifying scores. I'm excited to see what they keep doing, and hopefully they'll continue to improve."
