RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The GAC/MIAA announced its Week 3 Men's Soccer Players of the Week, and sophomore Gian Filizzola was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career. He joins Alex Fletcher, Tristan Miller and Alex Laing as the fourth Hillcat to earn player of the week recognition.
 
Filizzola helped the 12th-ranked Hillcats finish with a 1-1 record last week as they concluded non-conference play. The native of Presidente Prudente, Brazil, recorded his second assist of the season against St. Mary's and contributed to RSU's 2-0 shutout victory over Oklahoma Christian.

Rogers State men's soccer will open conference play on the road this week against No. 22 Fort Hays State on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Hays, Kansas, and will face Newman in Wichita, Kansas, on Saturday at 1 p.m.
