Hillcat Women Turned Away by Langston, 69-51

LANGSTON, Okla. - Rogers State held 12th ranked Langston to 39 percent shooting but couldn't overcome a season high 38 turnovers as the Hillcats fell 69-51 to the Lady Lions at C.F. Gayles Fieldhouse on Saturday.

Dominque Thomas led Langston with 23 points while three other Lady Lions finished in double figures. Tasha Parker tallied a team-high 12 points for RSU.

Despite turning the ball over 22 times in the first half the Hillcats trailed by just 12 points at the break. However, RSU's struggles continued in the second period when faced with pressure defense from Langston. Six Hillcat players committed at least four turnovers, led by guards Parker and Hunter Peterson with six each.

RSU shot 44-percent from the field and converted 14-of-16 free throw attempts. But, the Hillcats managed to put up just 32 field goal attempts in the entire game while Langston shot 69 times. The Lady Lions swept the season series from RSU with the victory. Langston also defeated the Hillcats 73-68 on Homecoming at the Claremore Expo on Nov. 10.

Rogers State (5-5) continued its season long trend of alternating wins and losses. The Hillcats have not won or lost consecutive contests this season. RSU will take a two week break before returning to action on Dec. 29. The Hillcats will host Kansas Wesleyan at the Claremore Expo in the final non-conference game of the season for the RSU women. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. and the game will be carried live on RSU Radio 91.3 FM.
