TYLER, Texas - Rogers State closed out the fall semester in style with an 82-50 road win over Texas College Tuesday in Tyler, Texas.

Sophomores Hunter Peterson and Katie Rice combined for 37 points as the Hillcats completed a series sweep over the Lady Steers. Peterson went 4-for-5 from 3-point range while Rice posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The Cats got off to a sluggish start and trailed 17-10 at the midway point of the first half. Peterson and Rice sparked the offense with back-to-back buckets and RSU closed the half on a 26-6 run. The lead swelled to 31 in the second period when Hannah Owen converted a pair of free throws so make it 68-37. Sophia Piggie buried a jumper with just under a minute to play to reach the final margin, 82-50.

The Hillcats shot 42 percent from the field and outrebounded the Lady Steers 46-36. RSU also forced 28 Texas College turnovers and tallied 19 assists on the afternoon. Effanesia Baker joined Peterson and Rice in double figures with 10 points. Autumn Thompson dished out eight assists with just one turnover.

Rogers State (7-4, 2-2) won its third consecutive game to complete the fall semester schedule. Coach Amy Williams' squad will return to the court December 30th following a two week layoff. RSU will host Ecclesia College (Springdale, Ark.) for the final non-conference game of the season at the Claremore Expo. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be carried live on RSU Radio and RSU Public Television.
