CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Rogers State baseball team plated five runs in the sixth inning to erase a two-run deficit and win, 5-3, over Bacone College on Wednesday at the Diamond Sports Complex.
The Hillcats scored all five runs with two outs in the sixth inning.
Jordan Garr brought in the first run on an RBI single. Another run scored on a
Danny Donoghue single to left field to tie the score at 2-2.
Colton Crocker gave the Cats the lead with a double, and two more runs scored on a two-RBI single from
Caleb Kohlmeyer.
Starter
Cole Chandler pitched five strong innings as he didn't allow a hit with four strikeouts.
Josh Eclavea and
Landon Nealon each pitched one inning with Eclavea.
Rusty Huber came in to get the final six outs and added to his school record with his 11th save of the season.
Kohlmeyer and Donoghue each went 2-for-4 on the day. RSU tallied eight hits.
The Hillcats (24-20) go on the road for their final road trip this weekend at Newman. The series starts on Friday with a doubleheader at 3 p.m. at McCarthy Field in Wichita, Kansas. Saturday the two teams play one game at 1 p.m.
