About: Kohlmeyer returns to the Hillcat lineup for the 2016 season after starting 44 games as a junior, all at first base. During his 2015 campaign, the Barnsdall, Oklahoma native hit .318 with eight doubles, two triples, and 21 RBI. Twice, he totaled four hits in a game, going 4-for-4 with one triple at Arlington Baptist and 4-for-5 with three RBI against Baker. Kohlmeyer totaled 15 multi-hit games and reached base in 11-straight games to end the 2015 season. In 2014, he led the team offensively with a .317 batting average and 10 doubles, while playing all 45 games with 44 starts. Kohlmeyer registered 14 multi-hit games with a seven-game hit streak from February 28 to March 11. He also recorded a team-best 310 putouts boasting a .985 fielding percentage. Playing in 18 games as a true freshman, Kohlmeyer tallied a .333 batting average, driving in six runs for the Hillcats. He came to RSU following a prep career at Caney Valley High School, where he helped the Trojans to two district championships and two conference championships during his four-year career. He was named all-conference twice and was honored as the conference MVP as a senior in 2012 after hitting .469 with 68 hits, 15 doubles, four home runs, 33 RBI, and 27 stolen bases. He also went 7-0 on the hill with 73 strikeouts and a 2.71 ERA. He was named conference co-MVP as a junior after batting .474 with 71 hits, 17 doubles, two home runs, 27 RBI, and 19 steals. He went 5-2 on the mound that season with a 2.93 ERA. Also a four-year starter on the varsity basketball team for the Trojans, Kohlmeyer was named first-team all-conference as a junior and senior. The son of Kyle and Debbi Kohlmeyer, he said he chose RSU because "it’s a great mix of academic opportunity and baseball."
