MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. – The Rogers State Men's Golf Team sits 11
th overall after the second round of the MSSU Men's Fall Invitational was suspended late Monday night due to darkness. The Hillcats completed their round, sitting at +14 heading into the final day.
Coming off of a win last week at the NSU Fall Classic,
Edwin Blomander started the day with a three-under par round of 69 in the first round on Monday. Blomander had six birdies, including five on the front nine to lead his first round.
The sophomore had three more birdies in the second round, but finished with a one-over-par round of 73. Blomander currently sits in a tie for 10
th overall at -2 heading into the final round.
Nico Horder shot his first under par round as a Hillcat with an opening round 70. The freshman had five birdies in the first round.
Horder wrapped the day at even par and sits in a tie for 19
th overall in the 108-player field.
Aidan Gavey finished the day third for the Hillcats, shooting a pair of 75s on the first day. Gavey had a pair of birdies in each round.
Gonzalo Chaves and
Logan Meehan wrapped the day for the Hillcats. Chaves finished the day at +10 with rounds of 76 and 78 on Monday. Meehan had rounds of 77 and 81 to finish the day at +14.
Rogers State sits in 11
th of 19 teams overall heading into the final day.
Round two will resume at 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday. The Hillcats will begin play with the third round following the completion on the second round, at approximately 8:30 a.m.
