CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State Men's Golf team and head coach
Steve Brown have announced the signing of Niko Coccio for the 2020-21 signee class.
Â
Coccio joins the Hillcats from John Burroughs High School in Burbank, California. At John Burroughs, Coccio was ranked seventh in the CIF Pacific League with a stroke average of 73 for the 2019 season.
Â
"Niko is a very enthusiastic and talented player out of California who we are looking to be a great competitor and teammate," said Brown. "He was on a great team that won all three of the events that they competed in, before their season was cut short."
Â
While at John Burroughs, Coccio helped his team to three-straight runner-up finishes in the CIF Pacific League Tournament in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Coccio also shot a personal best of 71, -1, in at the CIF Pacific League tournament in 2019.
Â
"Niko has shown the ability to go low in tournaments, has a great attitude and really wants to be a part of our program and the Hillcat community," said Brown. "I believe he will be a great addition to our team."
Â
Coccio was awarded the Coach's Leadership Award at his school for both the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
Â
Coccio is one of six commits for the Hillcat golf team for the 2020-21 signee class.
