MARYVILLE, Mo. – Rogers State men's and women's track and field broke four school records on the second day of the MIAA Indoor Championships on Saturday.
In the women's 800 meter preliminaries, Katie Byrd missed qualifying for the finals by one place after finishing ninth with a new school record time of 2:16.38, which breaks her own record of 2:17.14 set earlier this season.
In the women's 5,000 meter, Brianna DeAngelis finished 10th with a time of 17:58.98. Gloria Butts finished 12th with a new personal best time of 18:00.40. Madison Bradshaw finished 14th with a new personal best time of 18:10.49. Riley Coleman finished 16th with a new personal best time of 18:23.95.
In the women's distance medley relay, the team of Byrd, Jayden Lazzari, Jocelyn Turney and Tori Wood finished sixth with a new school record time of 12:22.41, which breaks the previous record of 12:30.29 set by the team of Byrd, Coleman, Turney and DeAngelis earlier this season.
In the men's 5,000 meter, Julius Oheim finished 16th with a new school record time of 14:56.62, breaking the previous record of 15:02.90 set by Nick Williams at the MIAA Indoor Championships in 2020. Hunter Hart finished 24th with a new personal best time of 15:12.02. Caden Goss finished 25th with a new personal best time of 15:15.77. Kyle Ginn finished 28th with a time of 15:23.91. Kory Wilson finished 29th with a time of 15:34.95.
In the men's distance medley relay, the team of Carlos Vallejo, Garry Rose, Jon Biersdorfer and Jackson Stinnett finished eighth with a new school record time of 10:18.38, breaking their own record of 10:22.15 set earlier this season.
The Hillcats will wrap up competition tomorrow on the final day of the indoor conference championships.
