CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State head men's and women's track and field head coach
Matt Kennedy has announced both indoor and outdoor schedules for the 2025-26 season.
The Indoor season will kick off this weekend at the Crimson and Gold Invitational in Pittsburg, Kansas.
INDOOR SEASON
The Hillcats will kick off the indoor season at the Crimson and Gold Invitational on Dec. 5-6 in Pittsburg, Kansas. Action at the Harvey Dean/Robert W. Plaster Center begins Friday with the 5K at 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. The Hillcat will begin competition on Saturday with the mile at 1:50 p.m.
RSU will return to Pittsburg three more times during the indoor season for the Rumble in the Jungle D2 Invitational on Jan. 23, the Pittsburg State Invitational on Jan. 31 and the
MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships from Feb. 27 to March 1.
After the New Year, the Hillcats will head north for the Washburn Rust Buster in Topeka, Kansas, on Jan. 16, and the Coach Richard Alsup Open in Maryville, Missouri, on Jan. 17.
The following Friday, RSU will travel to the University of Oklahoma for the JD Martin Invitational at the Mosier Indoor Track Facility. The Hillcats will return to OU for the Oklahoma Classic on Feb. 6.
On Jan.30 and 31, Rogers State will head to the East Coast for the John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University. The two-day meet will be held at the University Track and Tennis Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Additional meets before the conference championships include the Bearcat Invite on Feb. 6-7, hosted by Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, and the GVSU Big Meet on Feb. 13-14, hosted by Grand Valley State in Allendale, Michigan.
The indoor season will conclude with the
NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships from March 13-16 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
OUTDOOR SEASON
The outdoor season will begin on March 12 in Coffeyville, Kansas, at the Dean Pryor Invite, which precedes the indoor championships. The following week, the RSU will travel to St. Louis for the WashU Distance Carnival.
The Hillcats will wrap up March with the OBU All-Comers Meet on March 27-28 at the Hurt Memorial Athletic Complex in Shawnee and the 2026 ORU Invitational on March 28 at the OneOK Sports Complex in Tulsa.
April will commence with the Midwest Classic, hosted by Emporia State on April 3-4 at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas. In addition, Rogers State will compete in the MIAA Tune-Up at ESU later in the month. Welch Stadium will also host the
NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships from May 21-23. The Hornets are set to host the Outdoor Track and Field Championships again in 2024.
RSU will compete in NCAA Division I events at the next three meets. The team will participate in the John Jacobs Invitational in Norman on April 10, followed by the KT Woodman Classic, hosted by Wichita State at Cessna Stadium, on April 10-11. Additionally, they will head to Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the Arkansas Spring Invitational on April 11.
Before the
MIAA Championships on May 1-3 at the Pittsburg State University Outdoor Track in Pittsburg, Kansas, the Hillcats will head to the West Coast for the Bryan Clay Invitational at Cougar Athletic Stadium in Azusa, California. They will return to the same venue for the Franson Last Chance, taking place from May 7-9.
