Hillcats Sit Atop NFCA Top 25 Poll After Claiming First National Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Rogers State softball claimed the unanimous top spot in the final National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 Coaches Poll, the organization announced on Tuesday. This is the highest ranking in school history.
 
The Hillcats (58-10) claimed their first-ever NCAA Division II National Championship after sweeping their way through the 2022 NCAA Division II Softball Championship in Denver, Colo. with a sterling 5-0 record, including a Championship series sweep of Cal State Dominguez Hills. The team finished the season with the most wins in a single season in school history, shattering the previous record of 42 set in 2008.
 
RSU finished as the highest ranked team from the MIAA ahead of No. 9 Central Oklahoma and Washburn, who received votes. They are also the highest ranked team from the Central Region ahead of No. 13 Augustana and No. 22 Minnesota State.
