KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Current Rogers State women's soccer assistant coach and former men's soccer forward
Jordan Watson and Tulsa Athletic will take on MLS side Sporting Kansas City on Tuesday in the third round of the US Open Cup.

Watson, who joined the Hillcats coaching staff after his college playing career was done in 2021, is one of the most accomplished players in school history. His name can be found all over the record books as he holds records for career starts and games played as well as ranking in the top 10 in several other categories including game winning goals, assists, points and shots on goal among others.

A member of the National Premier Soccer League's (NPSL) Tulsa Athletic, Watson has helped the club to their first-ever appearance in the third round of the US Open Cup. The club got here after a 1-0 victory over city rival FC Tulsa on April 6 at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park on April 5. In the first round of the US Open Cup, Tulsa Athletic defeated Brazos Valley Cavalry (Texas) FC 1-0 on March 22 at Athletic Community Field at Hicks Park.

With a kickoff set for 7:30 p.m., the game will be broadcast on Sporting KC's YouTube channel HERE. This will be the first-ever meeting between Tulsa Athletic and SKC, who earned a bye to third round due to playing in the MLS, the top league in U.S. soccer.
