WARRENSBURG, Mo. – No. 21 Rogers State women's golf wrapped up play at the Midwest Classic on Tuesday, finishing third with a score of 888 (+43) after posting a team-best score of 294 (+14) in the final round. The Hillcats will return to Mules National Golf Club on April 20-22 for the MIAA Championships.
Central Missouri won the team title with a score of 871 (+31), finishing eight strokes ahead of Arkansas Tech, which scored 880 (+40). Central Oklahoma and Washburn tied for fourth with scores of 898 (+58) to round out the top five.
Freshman
Lou Fourdan capped off the tournament with another solid round, finishing one stroke over par thanks to birdies on holes 14 and 15. The Carnac, France, native finished in a career-high sixth place with a three-round total of 216 (+6).
Junior
Lauren Anderson was the second-highest finisher for the Hillcats, tying for 11th with a score of 222 (+12) after recording a final-round 75 (+5). Sophomore
Milena Andres and junior
Rylan Ashley (competing as an individual) tied for 25th at +17, followed by freshman
Lara Foigel in 31st (+19) and senior
Brianna Maddux in 37th (+21).
The Hillcats will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Regional Preview in St. Joseph, Missouri, hosted by MoWest at the St. Joseph Country Club CC.
