MARYVILLE, Mo. – Rogers State men's and women's track and field closed out competition on the final day of the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday.

"Our teams competed hard, and they represented our program and school well this weekend," said head coach
Matt Kennedy. "We set several personal and season bests as well as a few school records. I am extremely proud of our competitiveness and culture. A special thank you goes out to the families and fans who traveled up to Maryville to support us this weekend!"

The highlight of the day came in the men's 600 yard final when
Isaac Conder won silver with a second place finish and broke his own school record with a time of 1:11.26, which was 0.22 seconds faster than his previous record set in the preliminaries yesterday.
Phillip Owens won bronze with a third place finish with a new personal best time of 1:11.42, topping his time from the preliminaries by 0.12 seconds.

In the women's 3000 meter, Cordova finished in eighth and broke her own school record with a time of 9:59.29, which is 0.45 seconds faster than her previous record set earlier this season.
Katie Byrd finished in 11th with a new personal best time of 10:12.40, 5.99 seconds faster than her previous best.
Ashley Riggenbach finished in 15th with a time of 10:18.76.
Kaylee Nay finished in 21st with a time of 10:46.42.

In the men's 3000 meter,
Kyle Ginn finished in 21st with a season-best time of 8:44.89, which is 2.09 seconds better than his best from earlier in the season.
Cade McCall finished in 24th with a new personal best time of 8:48.83, 2.96 seconds faster than his previous best.
Julius Oheim finished in 26th with a time of 8:51.48.
Blake Feron finished in 28th with a time of 9:01.28.

In the women's mile,
Cadence Cordova finished in sixth with a new personal best time of 4:57.83, which is 3.09 seconds faster than her previous best and only 0.73 seconds off the school record.
Katie Byrd finished in ninth with a season-best time of 5:02.49, which is 9.41 seconds faster than her best time from earlier in the season.
Sisely Mitchell finished in 11th with a new personal best time of 5:06.21, 5.12 seconds faster than her previous top time.

In the men's mile,
Clint Stapleton finished in 17th with a time of 4:23.26.
Nathaneal Gibson finished in 20th with a time of 4:30.60.

In the women's 800 meter final,
Savanna Wainscott finished in sixth with a new personal best time of 2:19.51, which improved her best time by 1.40 seconds.
Kenzie Gilliam finished in eighth with a time of 2:23.66.

In the women's 4x400 meter relay, the team of
Ann-Marie Dorsey, Wainscott, Cordova and Mitchell combined to finish in 10th with a time of 4:04.23.

In the men's 4x400, the team of
DeShawn Crowe,
Ian Conder,
Isaac Conder and Owens combined to finish in ninth with a time of 3:17.28.

With the indoor season now complete, the Hillcats will begin preparing and training for the outdoor season which begins on Friday, March 28 as they will split the squad and travel down the road to Tulsa, Okla. for the ORU Invitational and to Shawnee, Okla. for the OBU Invitational.
