Hillcat Men's Basketball Releases 2026-27 Schedule

RSU to host 13 games at the Claremore Expo Center this season

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Hillcat Men's Basketball head coach Justin Barkley has announced the 2026-27 schedule. They will play a 28-game regular season schedule, which features 13 home games, including 11 against conference opponents at the Claremore Expo Center.

The season will kick off on Nov. 13-14 in Tulsa at the Union Multipurpose Activity Center for the inaugural Tulsa Tip-Off Classic. The MIAA/GAC crossover event will include four games each day, with the Hillcats facing Henderson State on Friday at 5 p.m. and Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday at 5 p.m.

RSU's official home opener is set for Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. against the University of the Ozarks. The Hillcats will play Ottawa at home the following Monday at 7 p.m.

On Nov. 27-28, the team will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the D2 Jackpot Classic, where they will take on California State-San Bernardino on Friday at 3:30 p.m. (CT) and Texas A&M International on Saturday at 1:15 p.m. (CT).

MIAA play will start at home on Dec. 5 at 3:30 p.m. against Central Oklahoma. Home games will also include matchups against Pittsburg State (Dec. 9), Missouri Southern (Dec. 12), Northwest Missouri State (Dec. 31), Missouri Western (Jan. 2), Northeastern State (Jan. 13) and Arkansas-Fort Smith (Jan. 16). Down the final stretch, the Hillcats will host Fort Hays State on Feb. 4, Nebraska-Kearney on Feb. 6, Central Missouri on Feb. 18 and Washburn for Senior Day on Feb. 20.

Rogers State will begin MIAA road play in Kearney, Nebraska, at Nebraska-Kearney on Dec. 18, followed by a game at Fort Hays State on Dec. 20. Additional road games include matchups against Washburn (Jan. 7), Central Missouri (Jan. 9), Northeastern State (Jan. 20), Emporia State (Jan. 24), Missouri Southern (Jan. 27), Pittsburg State (Jan. 30), Central Oklahoma (Feb. 13), Northeastern State (Feb. 24) and Arkansas-Fort Smith (Feb. 27).

The MIAA Tournament is scheduled for March 4-7 at Municipal Auditorium in downtown Kansas City. RSU advanced to the championship game for the first time in program history last season after thrilling victories against Fort Hays State and Missouri Southern.

The Hillcats aim to secure their third-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament, which will take place on March 13-16 at the venue of the top or second seed in the final regional rankings. The NCAA Elite Eight is scheduled for March 23-27 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
