CLAREMORE, Okla. - Rogers State Men's Basketball head coach Justin Barkley has announced the hiring of Luke Seals ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
 
"Coach Barkley's philosophy and the culture he's built here immediately stood out to me," Seals said. "The focus on toughness, accountability and real relationships is what I believe in. I'm excited to roll up my sleeves, get to work every day, and help elevate RSU Basketball."
 
Seals joins the men's basketball program after a successful career as both a player and coach at Newberry College in South Carolina, where he earned a master's degree in sports management.
 
As a coach, he developed First-Team All-Conference player Drake Down and guided the team to a tie for second in scoring defense in the South Atlantic Conference during the 2024-25 season, allowing an average of 75.8 points per game.
 
During his playing career, Seals helped his team lead all NCAA Division I, II and III schools in offensive rebounding for the 2022-23 season and contributed to the most wins against Division II opponents in a single season in the program's history.
 
"I am excited to add Luke to our program," Barkley said. "He comes highly recommended by many people whose opinions we greatly respect. We have been extremely blessed to have assistant coaches who have made our program better over the years, and I am confident Luke will be the next coach to make a lasting impact by investing in our student-athletes, just as those before him have."
 
Seals is no stranger to the Sooner State, having graduated from Ponca City High School. He was a four-year letter winner for the Wildcats and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team twice at the Enid Holiday Classic.
