HUMBLE, Texas – Rogers State men's golf kicked off the spring season with the opening two rounds of the Houston Classic, held at the GC of Houston on Monday.
The Hillcats are in 13th place after finishing with a score of 605 (+29) through 36 holes. They recorded a 306 (+18) in the opening round and improved their score by seven strokes with a 299 (+11) in the second round. Dallas Baptist holds a commanding 15-stroke lead, being the only team to finish under par with a score of 564 (-12).
Individually, junior
Dylan Ros and senior
Tyler Collier are tied for the team-best 21st, finishing three strokes over par with a score 147. Ros closed the day strong with a 71 (-1) in the second round, while Collier remained consistent with a 73 (+1) in the first round and a 74 (+2) in the second round.
Sophomore
Miguel Mora is currently tied for 57th place with a score of 153 (+9). He is followed by freshman
Kobsak Phisitbuntoon in 80th place with a score of 159 (+15), and senior
Aiden Deng, who is tied for 81st with a score of 161 (+17).
The third and final round of the Houston Classic is scheduled for an 8 a.m. tee time.
