No. 6 Seed RSU Men’s Basketball Opens NCAA Tournament Against No. 3 Seed UCM

Tip-off from Lee Arena in Topeka, Kansas, is slated for March 14 at 12 p.m.

CLAREMORE, Okla. - For the second time in program history, Rogers State men's basketball has earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, receiving the No. 6 seed in the Central Region. The Hillcats (21-10) will face No. 3 seed Central Missouri (23-9) in the opening round, set for Saturday, March 14, at 12 p.m. at Lee Arena in Topeka, Kansas.

In the 2019-20 season, the Hillcats were also the sixth seed in the tournament, but their postseason run was cut short when the COVID-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of all NCAA competitions. Prior to that, in the 2011-12 season, RSU advanced to the NAIA National Tournament Quarterfinals.

A HISTORIC SHOWING AT THE MIAA TOURNAMENT
The Hillcats are coming off their first appearance in the MIAA Tournament Championship Game, where they fell to top-seeded No. 3 Washburn. The Hillcats achieved a runner-up finish, the best since joining the MIAA in 2019, after securing victories over Fort Hays State (70-63) and Missouri Southern (72-70) earlier in the tournament. Senior Jabryn Anderson was also named to the 2026 MIAA Championship All-Tournament Team.

During the regular season, Rogers State finished third in the league with a record of 13-6. They recorded significant MIAA wins over Arkansas-Fort Smith (twice), Central Missouri, Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State. Notably, their victory over then-No. 5 UAFS marked the program's highest-ranked win in the NCAA Division II era.

RSU also has a non-conference win over the Central Region No. 7 seed, Harding, defeating the Bison 88-61 at the MIAA/GAC Regional Challenge on November 15.
