WINGATE, N.C. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its Week 8 poll on Wednesday, ranking Rogers State 21st.
RSU collected 135 points in the poll but dropped one spot from last week's rankings despite posting a 3-1 record. In the NCBWA Central Region Rankings, the Hillcats tallied 82 points and two first-place votes, tying for third with No. 14 Augustana of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
Defending NCAA Division II National Champion Tampa earned the top spot in the poll with 495 points, followed by Colorado Mesa with 484 points and Catawba with 451 points. From the MIAA, Central Missouri is ranked fourth and Pittsburg State fifth.
Additionally, Rogers State remained 15th in the ABCA poll for the third consecutive week, with 152 points.
The Hillcats will hit the road for a key MIAA matchup against the No. 4 Central Missouri Mules. First pitch from Crane Stadium in Warrensburg, Missouri, is scheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m.
